Why December suits the virtual format
There is no event to travel to on a Sunday morning in December, and no risk of the whole thing being cancelled because of ice. You go when the weather and the family schedule allow, split the distance across the month, and finish whenever you finish.
Do it as a family
A 1.5 mile challenge is very achievable for children, and a Boxing Day walk that earns everyone a medal is a considerably easier sell than “we are going for a walk”. See the kids and family collection.
